New Business and Strategy Manager; Dining Playbook

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to NESN’s Vice President of Sales, the Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for driving revenue opportunities for Dining Playbook (DPB) while strategizing how NESN could move the brand forward in the marketplace. In addition to the weekly show, this position will make significant contributions to the “gala” event associated with the program. Responsibilities will also include related duties for other NESN productions as assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Generate Dining Playbook revenue by integrating client’s needs into content
  • Serve as the key contact for a portfolio of clients
  • Assist in developing & producing high revenue & high impact opportunities within linear and digital content
  • Create, maintain & manage schedules and production/project plans to meet goals and deadlines
  • Work with Sales & Marketing Coordinator to ensure all sales client’s needs are exceeded
  • Effectively manage relationship and communicate project process and requirements with internal and client audiences
  • Ensure optimal on-boarding of new clients by coordinating activities across the team to ensure we are meeting or exceeding clients expectations
  • Handle incoming client requests; problem solve as necessary and pull in other members from the team as appropriate
  • Maintain regular communication and contact with team and client(s)
  • Be proactive in identifying new areas to support clients in meeting their goals
  • Provide metrics and recommendations for program improvement to clients on an ongoing basis
  • Lead marketing efforts for Dining Playbook across all NESN departments with sponsorship opportunities in mind
  • Manage several projects at various stages simultaneously–without missing a beat
  • Update budget tracking sheet and monitor forecast vs actuals
  • Responsible for updating clients with monthly email updates
  • Follows up and expedites the flow of information between NESN, the show and its clients
  • Alerts and interacts with internal team members, peers and/or managers to exchange semi-routine information related to assigned show
  • Attends weekly sales meetings and ensure pertinent information is relayed to show producer
  • Complete other related tasks/projects as necessary

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-8 years of prior experience in B2B marketing and/or sales roles
  • Have a strong, generalist marketing understanding across digital and traditional channels to drive client and internal discussions and planning
  • Be able to juggle a large amount and wide range of activities and responsibilities on any given day or week–and enjoy doing so
  • Knowledge of digital media and sponsorship coordination is strongly preferred
  • Proficient with MS Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; proven ability to learn and apply new software applications quickly; solid research skills
  • Superb organizational and multi-tasking skills, and ability to successfully prioritize; must be detail-oriented
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision, and collaboratively in team environment; good ability to work in a fast paced, loosely structured, growing and changing work environment
  • Must have a high level of professionalism, pleasant demeanor and positive attitude
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
